Delete the account

Buxy is a personal finance app by Villasoftware, from El Salvador.

How to delete the account from the app

1. Open Buxy and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete all data.
3. Type DELETE to confirm and tap the Delete all data button.

How to ask without the app

Write to soporte@buxy.app from the account's email. The answer comes within 30 days at most.

Delete data without deleting the account

• A transaction: open its detail and tap Delete. It is removed from the account and from the totals.
• A receipt: open the transaction's receipt and tap Remove the receipt. Only the detail is deleted; the expense stays the same.
• An account: open its detail and tap Delete account. The account and its transactions are deleted. An account that comes from email cannot be deleted this way; disconnect Gmail or delete all data.
• Gmail: in Settings, tap Disconnect Gmail. Buxy stops reading the mailbox and the access is revoked at Google; purchases already read are kept and can be deleted one by one. Email bodies and their attachments are deleted 30 days after they arrived.
• Chat: in History, Delete conversation removes one; in Buxy messages, Delete all conversations removes them all. What was logged from the chat stays in Activity.
• Chat photos and PDFs: they are deleted on their own after 30 days. What was logged stays.

What is deleted

• The account and its sign-in data.
• Transactions, accounts, budgets, goals and tickets.
• The Gmail connection: Buxy's access is revoked at Google and the data read from it is deleted.
• The chat messages.
• The person's encryption key: whatever was encrypted becomes unreadable, in backups too.

What is kept

• Pseudonymous receipts of the pilot quota and of consent, which do not identify the person.
• The platform's backups, for a limited time until they are renewed. Without the person's key, what is encrypted in them cannot be read.
